Over 15 years ago, experienced plumber Mike Douglass decided to found his own plumbing company in Englewood, Florida. Mike’s goal was to create a team that could meet all of the plumbing needs of his fellow Floridians, and although the company has changed hands since he got us started, we’re still committed to that central vision. We know that safe, clean water and reliable plumbing are essential parts of your life, so we work hard to give you all the support you need. The History of Mike Douglass Plumbing, Inc.

Mike Douglass Plumbing, Inc. was founded on a commitment to honesty, integrity, and excellence—values that have guided our Curtis family business since day one. What began as a small plumbing company has grown into a respected name throughout Southwest Florida, built on decades of hard work, strong community relationships, and a dedication to doing things right the first time.

Our story began in 1992, when Mike Douglass, a skilled plumber with a strong work ethic and a passion for helping people, decided to build a business that would prioritize service, quality, and trust. Starting with just a few tools and a truck, Mike quickly earned a reputation for dependable workmanship and genuine customer care. In 2007, Doug & Lane Curtis became business partners with Mike Douglass. Doug and Lane Curtis became owners in 2017. When Doug Curtis passed away in 2021, Lane Curtis became the sole owner. 

As word spread, so did the business. Over the years, Mike Douglass Plumbing expanded its services to include residential and commercial plumbing, underground pipe lining, leak detection, re-pipe, and cutting-edge technologies. Yet despite our growth, we’ve never lost sight of the family values that set us apart.

Now proudly operated by the second generation, Mike Douglass Plumbing continues to be a family-owned and family-operated company, with deep roots in the community and a long-standing tradition of treating every customer like part of the family. Our leadership team includes Doug and Lane’s children, who carry forward their parents vision and lead the company with the same passion and dedication.
